For the fourth consecutive year, Teatro da Garagem presents Daylight Project, an international project of practical research in theatre creative processes aimed for higher education theatre students and theatre professionals from around the world. In 2018, the participants are coming from universities in Spain, Finland, Portugal, Norway, Romania and Turkey, developing a research and artistic work articulated between rehearsals and fieldwork, with the artistic direction of Carlos J. Pessoa.
Flux, the show that will be created in this year’s Daylight Project, has as its starting point the theme of opposites that complement each other. Sixteen sub-themes serve as a motto for the sessions, which are taught by artists relating to, or being part of, Teatro da Garagem. Each of the subtopics provides a possibility of scenic construction, a starting point, which explores performative perspectives that plunge into the avant-garde(s) broad movements, from Malevitch to Abramovic, going through Lygia Clark, and from communication techniques, to fake-news, including Watergate and Guy Debord.
